EXPANSION PROJECTS

West River Drive – Jupiter Avenue to East of Verta Drive

Reconstruct and add a center left turn lane for overall five-lane section. Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalk ramps, concrete and HMA pavement.  Two-way traffic (one-lane in each direction) will be maintained during construction.

            Estimated Start Date:  April 19,2010

            Estimated Completion Date:  July 16, 2010

 

Northland Drive – M-57 to 15 Mile Road

Reconstruct and widen to three-lane all season section. Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, ditches and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

Start Date:  July 12, 2010

Planned Completion Date:  October 29, 2010

 

INTERSECTION PROJECTS

84^TH Street @ Piedmont Industrial Park Drive

Widen to add a center left turn lane for overall five-lane section. Includes concrete curb and gutter, catch basins, guardrail upgrade, and HMA pavement.  Two-way traffic (one-lane in each direction) will be maintained during construction.

Planned Completion Date:  September 3, 2010

 

 

18 Mile Road @ Pine Lake Avenue

Reconstruct and regrade 18 Mile Road east of Pine Lake Avenue to improve sight distance, including earthwork and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

Crahen Avenue @ Bradford Street

Reconstruct and regrade Crahen Avenue south of Bradford Street to improve intersection sight distance, including earthwork, concrete curb & gutter, and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

Start Date:  July 19, 2010

Planned Completion Date:  September 3, 2010

 

Kalamazoo Avenue @ Edgeknoll Drive

Expand existing left turn lane and add second left turn lane on Kalamazoo Avenue north of Edgeknoll Drive to accommodate southbound to eastbound traffic, including concrete curb and gutter, ADA ramps and HMA pavement.  Two-way traffic will be maintained during construction.

 

Knapp Street @ Pettis Avenue

Expand existing left turn lane and add second left turn lane on Pettis Avenue south of Knapp Street to accommodate northbound to westbound traffic.  Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal.  Knapp Street traffic will be maintained, Pettis Avenue traffic will be detoured.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECTS  

Cascade Road & Forest Hill Avenue

Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal. 

 

Cascade Road & Spaulding Avenue

Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal.

 

68^th Street & Division Avenue

Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal.

 

RESURFACING PROJECTS

6 Mile Road – Alpine Avenue (M-37) to Pine Island Drive

            Mill portions and crush and shape portions of existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Upgrade guardrail and sidewalk ramps to current standards.

Pettis Avenue – Honey Creek Avenue to Fulton Street (M-21)

Mill existing four-lane asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.   Maintain one-lane traffic in each direction during resurfacing.

 

John J. Oostema Boulevard – Patterson Avenue to GRFIA

            Mill existing Asphalt surface.  Resurface with concrete pavement and HMA pavement.  Upgrade sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards.

Leonard Street – East Beltline Avenue (M-44) to Crahen Avenue

            Mill portions and crush and shape portions of existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Upgrade existing sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards.

            Planned Completion Date:  July 16,2010

 

Cannonsburg Road – Myers Lake Avenue to Giles Avenue

            Mill existing Asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

            Project Complete

 

Lincoln Lake Avenue – 3 Mile Road to 5 Mile Road

Crush and shape and regrade existing asphalt pavement.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

 

17 Mile Road – US-131 Ramps east to West Street

Mill existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Two-way traffic will be maintained (one lane in each direction).

 

 

BRIDGE PROJECT

Byron Bridge #1 – Kenowa Avenue south of 60^th Street

            Remove existing triple corrugated metal arches and place a single precast concrete box culvert.  Installation by KCRC maintenance, all traffic will be detoured.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ENHANCEMENT PROJECT

84^th Streetscape – from Woodhaven Drive to Byron Center Avenue

            Streetscape amenities including decorative lighting, pavers, colored concrete crosswalks, benches, planter and trash receptacles.
